Strategy and Direction
A clear, personalised roadmap to finally stop the second-guessing.
You wouldn’t build a house without first laying the foundations, so we take the same approach to building your financial future. We start with strong money foundations that lay the groundwork, then continue to build upon this as life changes.
This is where the BALANCE approach comes into play:

E

Backed by experience across tax accounting, strategy, business ownership and investing.

It's easy to overcomplicate money.
With a new personal finance book on the shelves every week, Uncle Greg telling you about the next ‘big thing’ (he’s two years too late) Instagram and TikTok ‘fin-fluencers’, it’s very easy to see how the whole situation can be overcomplicated.
What’s actually hard is building a financial strategy that is clear, cohesive and moves the needle.
This is where every client starts. This is what we do best.

Every plan is tailored, but these are some of the practical strategies we regularly work through with clients.
Cashflow & Foundations
- Structuring your cashflow so saving, investing, and spending happen automatically
- Building an emergency buffer (without feeling like you’re restricting your lifestyle)
Tax, Super & Structure
- Optimising super contributions, including salary sacrifice and carry-forward concessional caps
- Reducing tax through smarter structuring and timing of income and deductions
- Using Trusts or company structures where appropriate
Investing & Property
- Deciding between shares, property, or a combination - and how to approach both
- Planning for your first home, upgrading, or investing in property
- Setting up investment portfolios aligned to your goals and risk tolerance
Debt, Business & Wealth
- Debt management strategies, including when and how to pay down loans vs invest
- Using your small business to build personal wealth
Life Events & Retirement
- Preparing for major life events - moving from employed to self-employed, starting a family, inheritance or selling a business
- Retirement planning, including how and when work becomes optional
- Creating a clear path from accumulation to income (turning wealth into lifestyle)

Finanacial Planning FAQ's
Can’t I just ask ChatGPT or another AI to write my financial strategy?
AI tools are great for general information and ideas, but they can’t replace personalised financial advice. We use your actual numbers, full life context, tax situation, goals, risk tolerance, and future plans to build a strategy that truly fits. More importantly, we take accountability for the advice, help you implement it, and adjust it when life changes or rules shift. AI is a helpful starting point – we turn it into a complete, actionable plan that works in the real world.
Do I need this if I already have some investments?
Almost always yes. Most people have pieces in place but lack a cohesive strategy that ties everything together.
How often should the plan be reviewed?
We recommend at least annually, plus whenever you have a major life or financial change.
What if my goals or situation change?
The plan is built to be flexible. We adjust it with you as your life evolves.
Is this suitable if I’m self-employed or have a side hustle?
Yes – at Balance Wealth we specialise in integrating business and personal finances for business owners and side-hustles.
